A downpour can greatly limit your visibility while driving, and even cause your vehicle to lose traction. To make sure that you are safe on wet roads, watch this video for some important safety tips.

First, make sure that your windshield wipers are free of wear and are no more than one year old. Inspect your tires for wear, and use the “quarter test” or a tire pressure gauge to determine if your tires have at least 4/32 inches of tread. As you are driving in the rain, avoid speeding, because this can cause your vehicle to hydroplane. Always leave at least three seconds between your car and the car in front of you so that you have plenty of time to slow down or stop. Avoid sudden braking, acceleration, or steering, because these things often cause a skid in the rain.

Does your vehicle need maintenance before the winter rain arrives? If so, come to Michael J’s Body Shop, where we have more than 20 years of experience serving the San Francisco Bay Area with vehicle maintenance and auto body repair. Browse our website or call 408-279-2070 for more information.
